All prices are subject to Connecticut sales tax of 6.35% as well as a 20% service fee
Payments and Guarantees:
A nonrefundable initial payment of $2000.00 is due at the signing of the contract. 25% of the final bill is due Six (6) months prior to the function and 25% is due three (3) months prior to the function. The remaining balance is due in full 72 hours prior to the function. A cashiers check or money order is requested for final payment. The guarantee of guest counts and meal choices are due 72 hours prior to the function. The count given 72 hours prior to the function is the number that will be charged, if over the minimum guarantee.
Bridal Suite and Groomsmen Lounge
As the bride, let yourself be pampered in the privacy of our bridal suite. You and your bridesmaids will prepare for the day or evening in comfort. Have your stylist or even a masseuse take care of your needs at The Riverhouse. If the ceremony is on-site the gentlemen have separate dressing rooms and a comfortable suite on the lower level while they await the start of the ceremony.
Ceremonial Patio and Terrace
Not only do you and your guests have use of our lobby atrium and Goodspeed Ballroom but the patio and terrace are yours as well. For an additional fee we will set up and assist in the coordination of your ceremony.
Five Hour Premium Open Bar
Our premium bar includes premium liquor, cordials and spirits, as well as draft beer and a full wine selection. To accommodate your guests the bar will be open throughout dinner.
Wine Service with Dinner
Choose from our selection of wines for one white and one red to be poured at each table throughout the progression of dinner.
Butler-Passed Hot Hors d’oeuvres
One hour before dinner your guests will enjoy a variety of six hot or cold butler passed hors d’oeuvres by our seasoned staff.
Harvest Table Display
To complement the passed hors d’oeuvres our culinary staff will prepare an array of international meats and cheeses with crackers and our house-made crostini and bagel chips, alongside fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables with savory dips.
Four Course Dinner, Buffet or Culinary Stations
You choose your type of dinner service. Our Executive Chef has chosen menu items to please all palettes. It is your decision as to what type of service style you would like.
When the time comes before dinner and the Best Man requests the collection of friends and family to raise their glass of champagne or sparkling wine to toast the newly married couple The Riverhouse will provide you with our house champagne. We have upgraded options available for the toast.
Wedding Cake by Creative Cakes by Donna
You may choose a buttercream wedding cake from either Creative Cakes by Donna or Kim’s Cottage Confections. You work directly with them choosing flavors, fillings and design. Their bakers will provide you with a cake on your wedding day to accommodate all your guests.

Our main responsibility for the evening is to anticipate your every need. Your bridal assistant will be available to you throughout your wedding.
Our Featured “One Wedding at a Time” Service
Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life, and we promise to keep our focus on you. When you have your wedding at the Riverhouse, you have exclusive use of the facility. We may have another wedding before or after your event–but when it’s yours, it’s all yours!
Use of Children’s Room
Do we invite children? Yes! Children want to be involved in the celebration but they can do it in our children’s room. You provide the baby sitter and we provide the room, children’s DVDs, toys, games and a place that makes them feel just as special.
Our wedding package includes a wide selection of colored table linens and napkins, sparkling glassware, white china plates and polished flatware. Stone tiles or mirrors are available to enchance your floral centerpieces. White votive candles are provided for all your guest tables.
Our building is Hurricane proof
The Riverhouse is able to weather any storm, with a generator to run the entire facility.
The Riverhouse holds “mock weddings” throughout the year in which you are invited to upon deposit. The mock wedding will allow you the opportunity to taste the majority of our menu, and see the venue set for a wedding.
