Picking a Wedding Day: The Most Popular Dates Uncovered

Nothing says spring and summer season better than a beautiful wedding ceremony. And while it’s true that captivating photos and memories can be made during the warmer months, there are plenty of reasons people are looking to alternative times of the year for their big day.

If you’ve been on the receiving end of wedding invitations these last few years you may notice a shifting trend with more and more weddings taking place in the months of September and October than ever before.

Fall weddings can be absolutely stunning. Especially here in New England with magical foliage on display this time of year. Having a wedding outside of the traditional summer season also helps couples to increase their guest attendance as fewer people will be away on vacation that time of year.

If you’re early on in your wedding planning or recently got engaged perhaps picking a wedding date is the first item on your long list. Once you’ve said yes, it’s time to start talking to your partner about what season you’d like to get married in and then any significant personally meaningful dates on the calendar. Or you can start with your dream venue and work with them on dates they have available. The choice is yours, really.

News/Media company Insider recently published wedding site Zola’s list of the top Wedding dates for 2019 which almost all fall within September and October with a few June weddings still happening in the mix.

Remember too though, a perfect wedding really can happen at any time of the year. Making the choice for your big day is personal for each couple and you should rely on what your heart desires versus trendy or popular dates from surveys.

If you’re taking notes though, here is a sneak peek at a few of those trending days to get married on:

  1. Sat., Oct. 12
  2. Sat., Oct. 5
  3. Sat., Sept. 7
  4. Sat., Oct. 19
  5. Sat., Sept. 21

The venue overlooks the Connecticut River next door to the historic East Haddam Swing Bridge with a breathtaking view in all seasons coupled with upscale services and a delectable menu make having your wedding here an experience that you and your guests will never forget.
